I see your "hook" and I visualize a buzz saw (Cordwood) blade and most buzz saw tables need to have the "HOOK" at a 1/3 from the eye and 2/3 from the rim to self feed with out hogging and being grabby (Dangerous) If you straight edge this tooth it is nearly "ZERO" or 90 degrees to the rails on the bar. (No self feed) :::: Applying crosscut concepts. I Hope my odd interpretations are helpful and not confusing.

Tried the chain yesterday.
It cuts but doesn't self feed, it DOES need more hook! ;)
I took another grind at my Stihl Rapid Duro 3, I got a little more hook on the cutters.
Top cutter got reground.
I haven't tried the chain yet after regrinding it.

I can not get more tilt on the MAXX grinder, 55° is as low as it will go.

Definately looks better, probably going to have to drop the rakers to get it to bite down and self feed good

I don't want the carbide chain to be too aggressive, although moderate self feeding is desired.
I already took a couple file swipes off the rakers, and I matched the DL hump to the cutters rakers as it was much beefier.
I am hoping to give the chain a try soon, I won't grind it any more before I do.

It is a chain from my BIL.
Supposedly a shop ground the chain and it didn't cut worth a dime.
He is running the chain on an AC powered electric saw.

I ground it and cleaned the gullets with my MAXX grinder.
I set the rakers with an Archer FastFiler roller guide.
And I gave each tooth a lick with a round file for that extra edge also utilizing the FastFiler guide.

Hope it will cut somewhat fast on the 55 with a 13" bar.

Nice C-shape!

Did You additionally clean the gullet?

i did rub it couple sharpening's ago just to feel if there is anything.
but it seems chain runs much smoother when i dont do any gullet work and just let the guide control the depth.
