Fastest cutting self evolving work chain, just sharpen normally past the witness mark so You get a "triangle" cutter.
This is one of my well used work chains, no cutter bent nor missing yet.
Left filed, right still needs filing.

Those well worn chains really rip!

Archer loop, 3/8", full chisel, round ground on my new to me AMA MAXX grinder, almost as aggressive as it gets (55° can't go shallower, 30° can go to 35°, 0° can go 15° either way)

You can mimic shallower by not grinding quite as deep so you’re only sharpening with the radius portion of the wheel, vs the side of the wheel. And then you’d have to file the lower portion of the gullet. Or back off the tooth stop and make a few deeper gullet passes with the grinder

While back I got some junky old 20” semi chisel chains from @Woodslasher for stumps n stuff. I had a big dry euc round I had hit a nail with a 42” bar. Figured I’d try to save the long chain with the short one and surgically cut around the nail. I carelessly sharpened the chain on the grinder and stuck it on my ported 2156 with an 8pin…woah! That thing ate that euc for breakfast. It was a chips/dust firehose. I will have to try that chain again…

I thought I sent you full chipper chains? I could be wrong, though. I love chipper chain for chitty work, my brother has had the same loop of Archer chipper chain on his 395 since last March and it was still moderately sharp when I took it off a few days ago. The saw hasn't really been used a ton, but when it has been used it was mostly been used for cutting roots or dirty wood so the chain wasn't leading a charmed life.

This profile cut really bad milling, its filed at 5ish degrees top plate. low tooth and I used a 5,5mm file. Think I will try to dig down low to get a better cutting angle or get a smaller file but looks to be room for a 5,5.
Its oregon milling chain dont know the name, 3/8, .058

Then I hit a 8mm bolt with it at full squirt... 4 cutters are gone got bent over so I toke the angle grinder to them.

@BOBL has some really good info on a Milling thread, Over on Yonder Site.. I am not good at Cuttin' and Pastin' so maybe some one can get some of his info to this thread.
I missed this thread ('Til Now) It is informative. Thanks

Is this thread only for sharpened chains or are factory ground chains welcome too?

I grind a fair amount of beaks by mistake (old eyes). It is not the end of the world as internet legend would have you believe.
The steel in this Stihl chain is tough enough that even the hard, dead oak I cut won’t dull it any faster than a perfectly placed corner.
