Been saving these, lots are from this forum, but why keep to myself? Maybe it will help someone and or generate some discussion and learning.

need to experiment and see if there is any benefit to putting the very fine sharp edge on with the dremel stone/diamond

Interesting @bradb123 . Looks pretty hooky/aggressive/self feeding. Almost looks
Like X cut or Hexa? I have some archer that looks like that I haven’t tried yet.

It's real aggressive out of the box . I got this chain in 36'' , 28'' and 24'' . It stays sharp for a long time in dirty wood .
I just had Nate set me up with a 41” Stihl bar and that chain on my 9010. Cut really great on the couple test cuts. Waiting for a winter storm to bring down a couple big oaks so I can really give it a work out.

Yes that's my .404 chain above.
Stihl RS .404 with it's reinforced cutter corner is very durable chain.
Here a couple more pics I give the file 10 down on RS this keeps the file parallel to the top plate, as the top plate slopes 10 degrees down to the inside of the chain from the factory.

Kicking my self for not running the Oregon .404 59 chain before I hogged out the cutters.
What's pictured worked very well in Sugar Maple with a 36" bar buried (No tip sticking out) on my Mac CP125.
Self fed great and pulled the saw hard into the log.
It didn't noodle well at all.

Strictly a GTG fun to run saw.

The chain needs more work. I think it can do better.

Me though, still fiddling around in the dark with chains.
Depth gauges are at the Oregon recommended .025"

I forgot I bought this last summer. It's archer 404 . The price was right a year and a half ago. The price has gone up quite a bit since I bought it. I'll try it out once my Oregon 68lx on my 36" bar is worn out.
