The absolute biggest gain that I have seen from cleaning out the gullet is from the safety chains.

Pitted sp21 vs Nano and they all performed the same on the factory grind with factory safety features.

Once the safety raker was filed back opening up the gullet and once all rakers were set to the correct
height, progressive gauge, then it was game on.

These 043 chains have quiet the potential when set for maximum efficiency taking into
consideration fiber, saw power, dryness.

@Wilhelm that type of chain set up is very good for dry hard wood.

I would like to see the chips produced on your set up.

The only downside the perfectionists would say that it will dull faster due to the aggressive side plate.

I lay back my top angle for dry hard knotty wood, and that is a game changer, yes it dulls fast in clean wood,
two medium pressure swipes bring it back to max cutting efficiency.

Reactive forces, in same species and dryness should be less on your set up as the square corner takes less power (more efficient) when biting compared to round.

This is older .050 guage .404 from Oregon. The denotion indicates that its a factory square grind /full comp.
Honestly you can see the quality of the construction of this chain, but it actually feels stout in the hand.

On my tiny phone screen it looks like this chain has 2 side cutters? Am I seeing this right? Looks like a 2 piece cutter. I need to get a bigger screen

This is regular round file .404 .050 . Obviously the same high quality chain that Oregon used to produce.

I want to see a video of this one cutting
That can be done, only one cutter is ground this way for now so I can get a before (round ground) & after video.
Maybe next week, can't promise anything!

Oregon full chisel full skip round ground after having been abused for carving petrified/fossilized oak for 2 whole tanks of fuel.

The oak stump was on the bottom of the lake for 2-3 decades, it got pulled out during a draught slash cleanup.
The stump is so hard it is stalling my Dolmar PS-7310.
