3/8 Low Pro ,A ported 550 might be better paired with a 3/8" chain.
My stock Dolmar PS-550 (Makita EA5600, 56cc) sure likes 3/8"!
3/8" is a noticeably stronger chassis than .325", but yes makes a wider kerf and as such eats power.
Can be, in my findings both can be fast and productive depending on the wood to be cut. Narrow Kerf .325" like Husqvarna X-Cut can be very fast on the smaller logs. 3/8" has more room for chip and therefor tends to be better in the larger logs.A ported 550 might be better paired with a 3/8" chain.

I do normally use a 1/4 file ,especially for the micro-chisel #27 that I cut stumps with.Some .404 with 1/4 file , good radial edge wear , on tough dry hardwood, View attachment 387419View attachment 387420

I figured it would be a bear getting the profiles straight from the beginning with a bigger file on this one.
