Yes, doing quick eyeball match on pictures of the two on the internet, they look really close, however, I did see a forum post that said they are not a match (or they could be matched with some machine work). Looks like bore size may be different (272 = 52mm w/34 mm stroke, 288 = 54 mm w/38 mm stroke) maybe?.Looking for cylinder bolt pattern numbers?##
