Nice work there Deets, but it was kinda hard to do anything fancy with these, and being on a Rock Ledge with no place to go did not help, but they went down w/o incident! It was hard to believe what was left of the tree was still holing em up! Really did not want to mess with them, but this guy has 3 young kids, so I just could not leave them there ... they were time bombs.

They were both Oak and leaners. Was afraid to make a big notch, and my little notches did nothing! I was just happy to get them down safetly.

in our horribly hard and dusty grey box and iron bark,i find the 461 bogging down a little when falling, particularly when making top cuts in the scarf.
Even with a brand new chain, its not as reliable in the cut as the 064,which is why i carry the 064 with me.
Bucking is fine, but when ripping down across fibres,as in making that top cut,i miss the torque of the larger saw.
Having said that, the 461 has had about 3 hrs run time in total,so im hoping it will wake up a bit,and once it settles in i will get a DP muffler on to it.

Please let us know how your 461 acts when you get about 3 more hours of run time on her.... I am anxious to see how she wil act for you once she is broke in!!!!

I bore almost every tree but damn sure a leaner.

I had some older guys school me on the fine art of boring when i was whackin all those trees down doin lot prep work..sometimes 60 a day..i sent a saw packin twice..i think its inevitable if you do it enough.
