Relevancy of Husqvarna 570 and 575xp loggers junk saws

I picked up 2-576’s and 2-575’s for cheap.I’m gonna try to get 1 running saw out of the 4. If you need any parts that you’re having trouble finding let me know. Hopefully I know what I got myself into with these, there may be a reason I got them so cheap I sure wish they were 372’s

I would not hesitate to work on/run either of those two types again. Good saws.

I’m somewhat familiar with them. I had a 575 for a couple years back around 06-07. That one was just hard to get running right, seems like it always bogged and I wasn’t as competent tuning back then. The one thing i will say is that saw was one of the smoothest most comfortable saws in the cut I’ve ever ran

I agree, those saws have good balance. I ended up putting an AM piston and cylinder on the 576 and it has been running great (someone detonated the original piston putting a hole through the top and both ring lanes. I have another 575 to work on and am looking forward to seeing what is going with it.

That’s good to know, what AM p/c did you use? I haven’t even had a chance to look at these ones, I have a couple other projects I’ve been working on. I’m hoping at least 1 of each cylinder is good enough to clean up. I’m trying to do these saws as cheap as possible, I need to stop sinking money into saws. I tell myself I’m gonna fix em up and sell em but then end up liking them and keeping them

About all I have left over is a good non blown upped OEM 575xp cylinder, maybe we can do some horse trading?

I used this one from Duke's : Duke's Nikasil Piston and Cylinder Kit 60mm 576

Started working on the 576. Was told that "it wasn't running right". Looks like it was dipped in mud, but the piston and cylinder are clean. The carb had a crispy diaphragm, which I am sure that didn't help much.


I started cleaning the parts on the very left, will work on the cylinder and other parts tomorrow. The fuel tank is all nice and clean now too. I found an extra 576 carb in a box of parts and robbed the diaphragm from it. I have a few gaskets left over from a previous repair, so hoping to get this one running without having to buy anything.

Make sure the throttle cable is opening the throttle all the way. May dad had several of these back in the day and the throttle cable would get worn and not pull throttle wide open
