I'm looking to buy a starter recoil assembly, complete unit, including rope and handle.

Would prefer Canadian source, but others are welcome.

This is needed for a 1986 - 61.

I know I'm never going to build all of these... Mostly 266's in parts, some 630's. And that's just the saws in pieces....

Do you have a starter recoil assembly?

@Boomer2230 - I have a decent one from a 268 I could sell. I actually just put a new rope in it to use a spare. But it doesn't quite fit on either one of my 61's (1981 and 1988) I tested it on. The rope hub that engages the starter pawls/flywheel needs to be shaved or sanded down slightly. I tried swapping the hubs around to see if I could make it work, but some of the early recoil housings have different thickness posts that run through the rope hub. So you can't swap hubs around on some of the starters.....some you definitely can.

Either way, this one wouldn't need to be taken down much at all, probably 1/8 of an inch to work right. Let me know if you are interested.

Gettin' lucky and finding a fella with an oem wrap he wants to sell or doing what @Czed does and adapting a 372 wrap to fit.
4-10, just watched a vid on modifying a 372, which I happen to have on one of my current saws. I feel like 266/268/272 full wraps and 266 top covers would make a man a millionaire pretty quickly…..

Pro Safety now has at least a few 272/268 ect wraps in stock I believe. I ordered & received the first set they had made in 20 years or so recently. Been meaning to do a post about it. They are not cheap. ($200) but they are classic & killer, and you are supporting an excellent family owned business in the PNW. I don't know about how they relate to the metal flags though. Isn't there a wrap specific metal flag? They are listed on the site, but without a photo yet. They of course look the same as their 288 bars, but the set I received has a contoured grip. All around a bit stronger, thicker and larger that OEM. Look forward to picking up another set myself soon.

That's a good deal
Because I've seen guy's wanting 200.00 for beat to crap oem wraps
I don't want fullwraps on all my saws only a few falling saws.

Hey folks I don't know if there is a JRED 600 series parts thread, so I'm asking here. I'm looking for a 670 Super II clutch cover with a nice decal, or just a 670 Super II clutch cover decal. Alternatively, if someone has one in nice shape and could send me quality photos, then I could get repro decals made of them. If anyone is after a 670 CHAMP clutch cover decal, I got some pretty nice ones made that look good with gold leaf and all. Thanks.
