I know I'm never going to build all of these... Mostly 266's in parts, some 630's. And that's just the saws in pieces....
How much ?@Boomer2230 - I have a decent one from a 268 I could sell. I actually just put a new rope in it to use a spare. But it doesn't quite fit on either one of my 61's (1981 and 1988) I tested it on. The rope hub that engages the starter pawls/flywheel needs to be shaved or sanded down slightly. I tried swapping the hubs around to see if I could make it work, but some of the early recoil housings have different thickness posts that run through the rope hub. So you can't swap hubs around on some of the starters.....some you definitely can.
Either way, this one wouldn't need to be taken down much at all, probably 1/8 of an inch to work right. Let me know if you are interested.
Gettin' lucky and finding a fella with an oem wrap he wants to sell or doing what @Czed does and adapting a 372 wrap to fit. What are my full wrap options for a 266SE metal brake flag, 268XP metal brake flag and 272XP.
4-10, just watched a vid on modifying a 372, which I happen to have on one of my current saws. I feel like 266/268/272 full wraps and 266 top covers would make a man a millionaire pretty quickly…..Gettin' lucky and finding a fella with an oem wrap he wants to sell or doing what @Czed does and adapting a 372 wrap to fit.

That's a good dealPro Safety now has at least a few 272/268 ect wraps in stock I believe. I ordered & received the first set they had made in 20 years or so recently. Been meaning to do a post about it. They are not cheap. ($200) but they are classic & killer, and you are supporting an excellent family owned business in the PNW. I don't know about how they relate to the metal flags though. Isn't there a wrap specific metal flag? They are listed on the site, but without a photo yet. They of course look the same as their 288 bars, but the set I received has a contoured grip. All around a bit stronger, thicker and larger that OEM. Look forward to picking up another set myself soon.
I don't know about the mechanics of 372 wraps, but to put a 266/272 wrap on a 266/272 you need a 288/395 brake flag.I think you need a 288 flag for full wrap. Might be the same as 395 too?
I just got rid of the one I had. I’ll have to dig to see if I’ve another.I need a 162 oil fill cap, vented like this:
