Best I can recall from @afleetcommand and @Spike60 education, the chassis we are talking about here is the 162, 61, 66, 266, 268, 272...and Jonny counterparts are OK with me too.

I am building some saws on this chassis, have been talking to some guys about parts, and had an idea for something new. Post up your wanted parts list for saws on this chassis...and your parts inventory that you are willing to trade or sell. Maybe we can help each other finish our projects.

Please tag anyone you think might be interested.

I know I'm never going to build all of these... Mostly 266's in parts, some 630's. And that's just the saws in pieces....

Looks like there's plenty of partial saws out there. What are the parts that seem to be needed the most that aren't available? I know top covers is one.

BTW, not full inventory yet, and I don't have much, but I have a couple late 1 pc coil 61 covers that I would like to be 2 pc coil 266 covers. Also a late crank with the larger threads and taper IIRC. Don't think I will need it and don't have a flywheel for it. I'll probably also have a case left over...unless I continue the insanity. :D

Gonna need a 272 carb and couple ignitions...need to check my stash of 272 parts against IPL to see what all I lack.

The 266 top cover and clutches for the early 1/2" coarse thread clutch are the real hard ones. Probably 162 covers as well.
Rings for the thin ring 162/630's, but you can swap them to a thick ring piston.
Parts for the early style brakes are few and far between too.

This is the complete saw shelf:

4 61's, 8 266's, 2 268's, a 162, and 6 630's.... There's a few more scattered around the shop... Lol

This 61 is all 272 from the cases up, except it has a 266XP HS224 carb. Not much different than a proper 272 carb as far as feeding the engine is concerned.

I’ve got a small handful of corse clutches.24934A0F-5254-41EF-9053-FA57381D82F7.jpeg

I could probably convert a few fine clutches to coarse. Would probably be worth it in a batch.

Maybe machine thin ring pistons for thick rings too?

I have one early metal brake 61, I’ll have to see what parts are involved in them.

I’ve got just as many corse cranks in cases.

The Swede-O-Matic is reasonably robust in itself, the brake band itself is the part that most of my broken ones need.
The Jonny brakes are all their own until the 268/272 style plastic flag brake assy, same story, band is the problem.

As for the thin ring pistons, I think I would rather just swap to the later single ring piston as it is a more modern full window piston, and I know that a 266 really likes a 268 piston for that reason.

Anyone have bar plates laying around? I’m guessing not, they probably get trashed which is why I only have two inners out of 4 saws, and only 1 is good. Explains why most of my clutch covers have clutch rub marks inside. I was gonna buy some Hyways but they look like they’re flat and don’t wrap to protect the area above the oil pump discharge slot. I can order from husqvarna spare parts if need be.

Just a heads up, I think 281/288 plates are interchangeable with the 61/272 ones.

I have some seals and other wear parts on order but as I get closer to having all three saws together I’m finding more things I’m missing.
I’m sure I’ll have more to add.

Need one or two worms, spacer washers, guard plates - steel inner and plastic outer F74D97AD-8FDF-4BF4-AC1C-2A7913788205.jpeg
need one of these starter pulleys with the taller metal cup that engages the dogs.

Mainly need a 266 intake block

If those are the same as 281 pulleys I've got a new one I installed on a saw that needs the short style, I'll try to have it pulled and waiting for you. I may or may not have one of those metal washers too, I'll have to check. Quick tip, the Oregon drum kit comes with the washer/plastic piece.
