I never ran those little saws much I always stuck to d009 mount to simplify bar's and chains.Well, they may be on the way already. Farmertec is reportedly doing the 262 chassis in the near future. In addition to the blocks, the rest of the intake system has mostly gone NLA as well. Carb bolts, (shared with the 242 chassis), throttle links, filter holders. Have to wait and see how faithful they are to the original. The variations between the 254/257/262 are more than you'd expect it you aren't familiar with them all.
Their 272 seems to have more of a 61 style intake than a 268/272 arrangement. They might elect to do the same and go with the simpler 1 piece 257 cover and intake. Keep in mind, that's all just speculation on my part regarding the details. Just aware that something is supposed to be in the works.
Thanks Spike. That is true on 272 money. Looking at historical sales on ebay, the 272's are definitely a premium. I am not fretting too bad over getting my money back. It was a joy to build one this nice. I spent a long time waiting for a good deal on that new 272 OEM cylinder. Plus I bought the saw super cheap. Got lucky. If it's just a used saw sold locally, it'll be hard to get what you got in it. Problem with these builds is you can't get 272 money for it unless the buyer understands what's going on. But she's SO clean, and if thats the missing piece of someone's collection. $400? More? I'd like to hear other's opinions, cause I usually sell used and rebuilt stuff too cheap.
That’s the min I’d ask and the most I’d pay…if I was selling I’d want more. That being said the closest I’ve run is a 266. Hope to build a 272 for Kevin to port this summer.
eBay prices are high…

I was thinking around the same thing. Ebay can sometimes get a seller a nice premium compared to private sales. But, the seller fees are currently 13%.
Example - I would need to sell it for $460 to get $400. To get $500, I would need to sell for $575.
Apparently musical instruments are only charged 6%. Maybe I could tape a kazzo to the muffler hole? lol
Just put it back in the garageI hate that my reply here in several months is to ask a question about selling a saw. Sry about that. Hope y'all don't mind.
I was wondering if anyone had an opinion of what this saw would go for?? I built it last year, it was my 4th or 5th 61 to revive, so I wanted to do this one up really nice with a new OEM 272 cylinder and piston. It is not ported at all. Factory base gasket. The problem is the saw is too nice for me. I only have two tanks through it. The only thing not OEM is the ignition set and clutch. Original electrics were giving me trouble and I didn't want to take a gamble on old electronics. It runs STRONG.
Brand new OEM 272 cylinder and piston.
Brand new Tillotson HS224a (same size as 272 carb but has case idle screw configuration).
Brand new OEM 272 intake block.
New SKF crank bearings and seals
All new OEM gaskets used.
New old stock Oregon Rim

same...threatening to sell my MMWS6100 again...@Czed - I know right! I have this kink with certain things, when they are too nice and don't get used.
The flag it different, straighter to match the straight front handle of the jonsered sawsJRed guys, are all the chain brake parts the same between both brands saws? Have a 625II brake, that the flag melted/broke due to the previous owner using the wrong muffler.
