So far here is MY quick take on the 592.

The good.

One of the strongest running stock saw I've had my hands on. Smooth, good weight for it's size, good value and it seems built robust overall, and I simply like how it feels. Instant acceleration, like a ported saw.

The bad.

The intake setup/wiring is 10 lb of s*** stuffed in a 5lb bag, bit of a pain to work on, especially compared to say a 395/390 or even the 661. Oil output sux IMHO. No lighter than a 661, some of the fasteners are aluminum, and one time use. The carb on mine leaks a little fuel on the pump side, the cap doesn't clamp enough. Bangs off the limiter like crazy. Overall quality is so so, and some parts look expensive.

Conclusion. It's a chainsaw, it will do what it needs to and likely do it extremely well. Nothing ground breaking, I probably prefer the 661, but that could change. I'll keep my ported 395 and 390, the 592 will be moving on.
Good to know Amigo. One thing I've realized with the new stuff. I don't want to be the one working on it. It will all be my sawshop.

I've always had so much love, and respect for a 394 or 395. I consider them the king. But my favorite platforms have always been 046 461 size, and 288 390. With imo the 390 with less vibration better handling than a 288 I was sold. Always loved the 372 just wanted a little more stump power. This 572 is doing it, for me. I know we are all different favorites etc. But the goid Ole 394/395 I think will stay around for quite awhile, even discontinued.

Anything Kevin puts his hand to turns out to be a monster. I have two saws he did and they're both rockin'

That's a fair assessment Mr. A - what I saw in the 572 engineering-wise wasn't all that impressive over the 372, but a well-ported version might be a different story.

I had a nice 661 and it was a pretty sweet machine, but I'm hanging onto my quad-port Huskies.

The 572 has a nicer layout in the carb intake area, the 592 is in all honesty a mess, reminds me of the 441, lots of bits that shouldn't be and packed in there. The 572 is the best 5 series Husqvarna period, just lacks a little stock power.[emoji3577]

Good to know. Would you say inside the 585 is built better than a 592? Meaning the stuff you said was a mess

Well it won't have the wiring or module, so that will help.
585 still has a wire or 2 coming from the coil for diagnostics, but not for the AT.
I’ve been into a 576 and the 585/92 layout is similar. Even the cylinder port arrangement is the same

Have you tried to retro an unlimited coil onto a 585 yet?

I’m not sure on everyone’s oil problem with them. Mines oils quite well, if it used anymore it’d be out before it runs out of fuel. The 572 carb box is less congested and easier to work on. I’ve had a 28-42” on it and it handles them all fine. I run a 32” with an 8T predominately. I really like the saw overall, I’ve never liked running a 394/395 all that much and for everyday cutting I’d choose the 592 every time over a 395 or 390, and 661’s don’t trip my trigger all that much either

Currently stuck in the same 572/592 limbo.

Still reading opinions, digesting and pondering.

Do both saws ported or stock start stone cold and re-start just about the same or is there a considerable difference between the two generations of autotunes?

Have only owned 550xp muffler mod, couple 562s one stock one ported, 550 MK2 muffler mod, couple 572s with muffler mods only and reassembled dropped 592 muffler mod. If they sit for a month or two, may take 4-5 pulls to start, all have been one pull restarts when warm. Others may have different results. Took about 8-10 pulls to start 592 after assembly, after warm, one pull. First time disassemble of 592, down to case split, everything seemed straight forward to me.

Just my opinion, do not understand how that intake and carb set up is hard to work on a 592. Seems simple to assemble.
I can have a 661 carb off in like under a minute. The 592 you have the upper part called the elbow, the wires all wrapped around it that need tiny hands to fiddle with, the combination switch, the ball of fuel lines, and it's all squished together. Is it a rocket engine or impossible to work on? of course not, but it's not a clean layout like it should be, that's my point.[emoji3577]

Agree, all saws are different. Take a ms 201 throttle puzzle, set those parts in front of average person and see how long it takes to have functional saw.
