It doesn't matter. Port finish has no effect on unsteady gas flow in a duct. This is because the area next to the surface sees little movement.
The only port I want with a fine finish is the exhaust port for the purpose of limiting carbon buildup.
The piston is no doubt on the heavy side. Strato pistons always are.
I do wish it had a Mahle cylinder.

After running my ported 564xp for a week there is not much wrong I can say about it. Ergonomically is in the class of its own. It's way more powerful than 562xp. Efi gives it instant throttle respond and muff modded is not that loud. Comparing it to 400.1 is ridiculous in every espect except build quality.

I dont have a 400.1 but I have an Eathan Trainer ported 400! Its pretty dang strong. Not sure if my 564 can keep up. Only one way to find out!

IMHO it is much better saw for daily use. Antivibration system is near perfect. It seats in my hands like a violin. I'm much more precise on stump than I was with 562xp. It has more power than 401 and it starts every time. Something I cannot say for 401. And damn thing vibrates like crazy.
Nevertheless it is build like all 5 series husky. Chinese bearings, gilardoni cylinder that you just look at and it's flaking off. We'll see how long can it takes the beating we are giving it

I think they have phased over to HQV as one of their bearing supplier, and that is as far as I understand a German brand.

Composite materials can be very strong, and withstand high temperatures, and unlike metal, can have less material dimensional change in temperature changes.

In terms of appearance, it looks more like a peek than anything else, it must have been closer to 7-8 years since they changed it.
