Nicely done. That carb have a ball and spring style limiter like the dolmars or a fixed jet?

As for starter handles, sheared a d handle in half myself today.

Mate I really don't know to be honest and cant seem to find any detailed info on the carbs.
I start winding in the H to lean it out, and it gets to a point where the revs stop rising and then it sounds different like its being clipped so I assume its the limited coil holding it back.
It runs with the flywheel on the limited keyway.

Now that its been ported its blubbering rich on the limiter so needs a couple thousand more RPM.

I have the 088 that came with the 084 which has an unlimited coil and I can lean that right out no problems.
When I get the 1308 unlimited coil, if I cant lean it right out with the carb on the 084, I will try it with the carb on the 088

Had a dig on the tillitson website and found a parts list for HT 5 and HT 7

The 5 lists a "remote fixed jet" that is not listed on the 7

Now to find this jet and make it smaller

Carb on the 088 is a HT 12 with limiter caps
I wonder if it would be limited if I pulled the limiter caps?

I don't think the 12 is limited. I'll search for the IPL on the 5 to see if the jet can be found.

Is that on the bench to be ported now Jay?
I would be very interested to see what you do
Soon as a piston gets here it will get ported.

I'm not sure that a low exhaust is needed on these,96-98 will probably work.

That would be awesome!
I really appreciate people's help and knowledge sharing with this stuff

I can't find anything else online with a good diagram. There's pictures on AS in a thread that shows the extra jet. Thinking we can just plug it with something and not use the auxiliary jet to flood it.

The H needle seems to be seating so the fuel must be bypassing this

Here is the top
I tried to unscrew the jet with the slot in it but it won't move

IMG_0328.JPG

Both the brass jets protrude into the centre of the carb but the one with the slot and hole in it doesn't seem to have a hole in it

IMG_0326.JPG

IMG_0327.JPG

The hole on top over the H jet sits where it can flow in
I'm guessing the brass jet with the slot is the fixed limiting jet.

I might order some little drills so I can find the jet size and try filling the hole with solder and drilling in a smaller jet hole
