Now..... the 084 carb
The one on the saw is a tilly HT5A012

I had a read of the documents @Definitive Dave put in his 084 info post and it lists a HT1 and HT2

Does anyone have info on this carb, is it good, bad, etc?

Dave..... whats a good carb for the 084?

Now, reading further info on the net, the HT5 carb has a limited H jet and wont let the saw lean out which will SUCK!

A HT1 carb could be hard to find.
I will ring stihl shop tomorrow and see if I can still get a HT1 unlimited H jet screw

Limited coil and limited carb.... this saw is going to be a challenge to get running over 13K

Tony, love your solution to cut the squish. If you put a cutter on each side, would it be easier to cut straight?

Put a piston in a cylinder and try and rock it enough to cut crooked
I think it would be harder to get 2 cutters to sit at exactly the same height
Gotcha. Makes sense. I was thinkin about a way to keep from scoring the cylinder wall goin in and out. I saw a cylinder from another porter that scored the hell out of the wall goin in and out with a mandrel and it was above the exhaust. Im sure that didnt help compression
