I sold my "erectus maximus" 066 to get some of my work out there and in the public eye.

I recently ported an 066 for a fella that ownes a tree service company and uses nothing but top handle saws and 066/660's
He was climbing with the ported 066 and said he wont climb with again as its now got so much go it almost broke his arm when it bit in and kicked back at him.

His employees all want to run it and he is spreading the word.

I will be attending an Aussie saw GTG in May organized through a facebook chainsaw group and cant wait to lay out some ported saws and tell people to have fun

I have been doing a lot of thinking towards a name for my saw building.

Its far from being a business but with a name, and maybe a sticker, it will help build a bit of a following.

I am thinking this:

White Knuckle Work Saws

WKWS

@Mastermind , @jmssaws , @drf256 , what size and material do you use for the stickers?

I am thinking a basic oval design, white with black writing, the words WHITE KNUCKLE top and WORK SAWS bottom with a fist in the middle and the words "Hold on tight" under the fist.

what do folks think?
I like that a lot , its got a real punch to it {punt not intended }

I'll have to measure to be sure, but 2.5" x 1.25" seems right.

I had to build saws and sell them to buy better tools. A few box o saws, and a cheap lathe is paid for.
Me too.
Poor people have poor ways but look at what we've become, you are known all over the world and have ported more saws than anybody x2.
I ain't doing to bad either.
Not to bad for a couple kids raised on commodity cheese.

I got the 024 running but she won't idle
Get thevrevsbup and it goes great but runs like a cranky pig at idle.

I did some thinking about what @jmssaws said in another thread about needing restriction at each end to get them to run properly when the transfers flow too well.

I closed off the front muffler outlets and it runs better.

When it cools I will block off that extra side port and run it with just the stock frontboutlets see if it helps

It's all over the place.
it's really lumpy and spluttery and wants to stop rich. It decides to load up and just stops.

I am going to pull the carb and coil from my 026 and swap them out one at a time,

Could it be a timing issue?
I advanced it a few degrees

Also, it runs smooth at WOT if it's screaming lean but when I start to drop revs with fuel it starts surging like it's being turned on and off

I think it's fine, it just sounds way different to usual and idles nice at 3000 rpm

When I give it the beans, it goes over 15k and suddenly bogs rich.
I am thinking it has something to do with the saw running with no load and virtually no air filter as all I have is the one with no flocc on it

Got it all together this arvo and it goes well when I hold my thumb on the choke flap to stop it closing

Rough tune had it turning at 14800 rpm 4 stroking with the muffler almost closed off.

Will progressively open it up and see how it goes

Just waiting on the new wire mesh filter and filter cover to show up

I just ordered a Foredom flex drive, a 28MC and 44MC hand tools and a 182AMC 90 deg hand tool.
First few saws will be to pay this off but will be profit after that.
Already have a couple booked.

First one will be a little one... an 084

I have been doing some thinking.
Stihl 084 with Stihl 090 piston and cylinder

Would work out at about 147cc with the added 3mm of stroke

Hmmmmmm
The stroke won't change!, only piston diameter from 60 too 66mm :)
