But an 084 has a 43mm stroke vs the 090's 40mm.

I would have thought that would mean the 090 piston would now travel 43 mm up and down compared to the 40mm it would travel on the 090 case

Have I got this all twisted up in my head?

Oh, and once I opened up the side port on the 024 muffler, it now runs up to 15200 4 stroking strong.

That's about as far as I am game to push the Hyway piston, even though it was 10% lighter than the OEM

Sounds right to me.

You should need .060 out of the 090 chamber (less squish) to make it work. Hopefully the 090 had a really loose squish so you can pull less out.

Will probably start out with a farmertech top end to see if I can get the concept to run good
If I take that much out I will also have to watch the death ring.

It will be interesting to see where the timing ends up.

Do you think a stock HT1 carb off an 084 will supply enough air and fuel or would there be a better option?

Not sure at this stage.
Its just a thought but it would be cool to make it happen.
Another issue is the 090 cylinder has a "husky" lip on the base but I guess that could be removed

084 wrist pin bearing: Needle cage 13 x17x17.5
090 wrist pin bearing: Needle cage 15x19x19,5

That could be an issue

That is correct!, I thought you meant that putting the 66mm piston/cylinder on the 084, was going to change the length of its stroke which is false:)
There has been a few race guys done similar conversions on a 3120xp here in Oz, but has not been an outstanding success in the racing scene.

I used a 66mm wiesco race piston..used a 088 wrist pin....but they are pricy. ...had to epoxy the outside of the cases a little too..
I left the ring on bottom of the cyl...hindsight I should have removed it on just the sides

Ahh, take the ring off where the piston windows are, yes!

The big question is, how did it go?
