It's complete craziness here in CA
Speaking of crazy. Looking for a input here. I was running my 592 today no load on it about quarter throttle of a half throttle. And it was acting like it was running out of fuel sputtering. Not like the carburetors look in the tune itself just like a gas issue any thoughts.

Or is it just the auto tune trying to reset itself. I mean the thing has 10 tanks in it
And several weeks ago I reset the auto tune in a block of wood

They need to be run wide open. Anything at part throttle for an extended time messes with them

More information and your thoughts being the first time using it??
I used it prior to drop and buck a 30" rock maple, but I ran a couple tanks thru it bucking firewood last night. Smooth, very strong, pretty good on fuel, oils well for my purposes.

Starts nicely, I will say that. 3 pulls and that puppy is running from a cold start

Love mine, same first thoughts and very ergonomically made.

Logger 585 came back. Won’t idle. Dealer put a base gasket back in because they said it had an air leak. I pulled it back apart to make sure the cylinder was OK and to find out why it had an air leak. Cylinder and port work/machining all looked good with no clearance issues, so I stuck it back down with sealant and no gasket, the way I originally sent it out. Pressure and vac tested fine.

Found a plugged idle circuit hole so I cleaned that out with a micro drill and shot carb cleaner through it to verify.

Reassembled and still no dice.

The purge bubble appears to be leaking since it opens on its own when I plug off the suction port. I’ll put a new bubble on it and try that next

I suppose another alternative is that the main nozzle check valve could be leaking. I believe that will potentially push air up underneath the diaphragm and lean it out at idle. Am I thinking correctly? @srcarr52 @Mastermind

In theory that could happen but I've never seen an engine with enough demand at idle to create the pressure needed to force air into the bowl.

Does it idle if you give it a tiny bit of throttle? I could just need more fuel at idle or more air after the port work.

Had the L screw backed out 4 turns until it got floppy, still lean.

Purge bubble was sucking air. And the goofy shaped hose from the carb to the bubble slid on and off too easily. I unhooked the purge bubble and it died instantly. Plugged both hoses and it idled fine. Found a used bubble and S shaped hose from a 562 and put them on. The S shaped hose actually fits better anyway. Been idling for 15 minutes now perfectly.

Bottom line, if you have idling issues, plug the purge line coming from the carb and try it. It won’t idle correctly if there’s the slightest possibility of air getting into that line

Nice find. That could’ve been a head scratcher.

Nice work Kev. You’re a lot smarter than you look! I understand the idea behind the purge bubble but this is why I’ve never been a fan. Just one more thing to break.
