Dang! That sure is a cool degree measuring tool you got there on your bench.
Only used it a few times. The old wheel was getting hard to read from numbers being scratched off and I got tired of changing out the transmission in it several times per year

You got a digital one off joe yet? Game changer! They’re so much nicer to use.

The Dodge boys will be cussing me out now lol.

Back to the 585/592’s….:)
Meh...they need some heckling. The only rental car I blew a transmission in was Dodge Caravan....the thing didn't even have 200 miles on it when it puked. Thankfully it was a work trip and not a family vacation.

Had the L screw backed out 4 turns until it got floppy, still lean.

Purge bubble was sucking air. And the goofy shaped hose from the carb to the bubble slid on and off too easily. I unhooked the purge bubble and it died instantly. Plugged both hoses and it idled fine. Found a used bubble and S shaped hose from a 562 and put them on. The S shaped hose actually fits better anyway. Been idling for 15 minutes now perfectly.

Bottom line, if you have idling issues, plug the purge line coming from the carb and try it. It won’t idle correctly if there’s the slightest possibility of air getting into that line
Makes total sense. Good find. Never been a huge fan of them but a lot of saws have them now. They’re nice when they work. But what if that mfer breaks while your out in the woods.

That definitely seems to be the magic number three pulls on a cold start
