Dug holes for my deck in the soft, not, Arkansas hillside with manual post hole diggers, rock bar, and flat blade shovel. Got four done so far and two more to go. Coulda paid someone to do it but where’s the fun in that?
Was surprised when I made and busted two blisters. Right where my callouses are thickest. Must’ve been the weathered handles.
Rife is luff.

I got a little dead one in my back lot, and a couple of others in the lot across the street from me that the owner says I can take. Another lot down the street has several larger dead ones, but I can't get permission!!! :-(

I have another one in my yard, same size as the dead one, but still very much alive … hope it stays that way!

I also have to check my upstate property … I think most of them are good up there, but several were very late with the leaves this year, so we will see! About 30-40% of the larger trees on my 50 acres in the Catskills are Ash. Would be real bad if they all died, I would likely do a lot of milling.

My 10 acres of woods was at one time maybe 15-20%. At least I can keep all the maple, beech, hickory, and cherry standing and keeps things thinned out. I'm working on the 7-8 acres adjacent to mine right now. I estimate 80-100 dead on the ground 3-12" diameter when I started. Finally seeing that I have made at least some progress now.

We have a new neighbour a couple down who had some tree guys do a bit of a tidy up.
I went down today in my wagon and lowered and squared the top of all the stumps, and noodle blocked some of the bigger rounds for her.
Even got a blister off my Fiskars X27.
Was first time I'd run my, or any, 372. Me likey.IMG_20200615_093413.jpg

Tidyish.
Bit of a story there. Won it on TM with a $255 autobid with only a few bucks to spare years ago. Adv. as "Seized". Well the chainbrake was, filled with sawdust. Its a 95 but the cylinder has 97 scratched into it so i think its been replaced or maybe just wasn't put into service for a couple of years? Mahle anyhow.
I have some JB Weld Marine here as of the last couple of days to go with a helicoil job on two of the three top cover screws as per @Stump Shot primo thread thread. It will also need a pto side case at some stage, bad chain rash and I had to use it on some rsole Phoenix Palms and despite laying a protection layer of WD40 down before hand and cleaning after the plant acid/poison has attacked the case. Pinhole through in one place even.

If you need a PTO side case I think I might be able to help you. I'll have a look when I have a chance. I popped a new piston in this old beauty today:
