My grandfather wanted to buy a new a Ford tractor but of course during WW II they were basically unavailable. Once you could start ordering them there was a long waiting list. He said it was supposed to be 18 months but it was longer. The tractor was one of the last 2N ones made. The rear casting is dated March 1947. Had it be a bit longer he would have got a 8N which was an improved tractor. They had a 4 speed, side mount distributor, and the brakes were on the right side. He bought 2 bottom plow, 2 row cultivator, and 6 foot disk with it. The disk was borrowed by a neighbor and never returned but everything else is still here.I have my grandfather's old dearborn plow. Looks just like that one.
I was wondering if it was originally steam powered!Looks a bit older than mine
1931 vintage originally was powered by a steam engine.
Poured 14 yards a couple weekends ago
It also had steel wheels originally
