Went to the daily grind looking for a smooth day and got exactly the opposite. Stomping out fires all day and thought lunch would improve things. Then I was presented with the smallest Taco salad I have ever seen. They got me for $18. Usually don’t speak up in food places regarding value for money but I couldn’t let this one go.

I’m concerned about starting any saw work this evening 🤯

probably why I enjoy mowing grass for hours lol or maybe its the diesel fumes rotting my brain...
I do not like mowing one bit. I can't tolerate this heat and humidity any more. I love working outside when it's cool weather like 40-60 degrees

I don't mind the heat, humidity kicks my ass. the cool mornings are the best time to do outside work.

Cooler temps here in West TN today. Daily grind…not so many fires to put out but I definitely got pulled a lot of different directions. Since I was working from home I cleaned up a few 357/359 cranks at lunch. Now I get to be the ‘Dad Uber’ for the evening running these damn kids everywhere.

I’ve never done this before but I am thinking about hitting up some small engine shops and a tree company for some saw scraps tomorrow. Going over my ‘sales pitch’ in my head 🤪

We’ve been trying to clean up the yard and have named it the “15’ project” as I try to do 15’ at a time. Today was a big one with the kiddos and Pops helping. Here there are/were a couple steel piles we sorted through and sort of organized.

A little farther back than the first pic but we started cleaning junk up a ways behind this picture a few weeks ago. I’d say we’re doing pretty good !!

IBC totes make great steel racks.

Thought my driveway project was going to be a Saturday morning project. Blew something up in the first dump truck, caught a giant rock with the passenger step and got run off the road in the company dump truck, made one hour plus trip to realize my machine keys were at home. Had a load were it would only go 15 up the mountain and barely dump but it’s done. 10 or 12 trips in a single axle dump with who knows how much weight. The people across from the gas station had kids that liked watching the equipment. Started Friday evening and dropped the dump off around 4pm. My tractor and neighbors probably aren’t impressed. Even the dogs stayed home for day three.IMG_3291.jpegIMG_4001.jpegIMG_3979.jpegIMG_3957.jpeg

Got an evacuation notice close to me, figured out I knew the guy, talked to some ex co workers about it and found out my one foreman has been dead since 2023. He always avoided the bomber and made him rub walls. He was on enough drugs that he make grooves on block walls. And I spread some dirt. Interesting day. RIP Carl… Bonus pic with my cardboard sombrero that Carl told me was going to get me fired. Before I was fat.
