I don't know how well you know him, but I've known him for many years on another saw related forum, always in a positive way.

If what I have been told is correct he has done totally unacceptable things as a moderator on here though, and if the story I have been told is true he should be removed as a moderator, because of a total lack of judgement.

Clipping out random statements that a member made in different threads (and contexts), and creating a new thread (with his own quite offensive title) starting with those clipped out statements isn't what a moderator on any forum should do.

The world is changing fast. AM parts are getting better, OEM parts are coming down in price (likely due to AM competition), and half the time you buy OEM it is now also made in China!

I also think the subject of this thread is a very good idea, and I'm looking forward to trying one out.

Niko, good to see you posting, and I respect the heck out of your knowledge, but sometimes more tolerance for other opinions would be nice. Echo products are usually very competitive on both price point and reliability, so if those are your objectives, they make a lot of sense. Plus, rated HP is not always the best measure of performance, and no one is posting how broad their power band is, so sometimes we place too much emphasis on the #s.

If someone likes what they have, that is all that matters.

You hijacked someone elses very detailed, informative, and time consuming porting thread to further your Anti-Echo agenda. You were asked to create your own thread, and to stop your sophomoric behavior. You chose to do neither.

Many members here, and on other sites have complained over the years about your curmudgeon attitude, and your almost cultish disdain for anything from the Axis Countries.
I was asked repeatedly to parse out your posts that were detrimental, and of no intrinsic value to the thread referenced above. I let it go for a while, until your antagonistic, and open hostility became very clear.
Niko, as I explained to you in PM form (back when I removed your negativity, and gave you your own thread), I respect you for the wealth of knowledge you possess, and the friendship we once shared.
Unfortunately, you apparently feel that you have some above reproach ability. Well you don't, and frankly, if you want to stay and participate, great. If you want to continue to flog your dead Echo horse, fine, I could care less. However, if you want to make $hit up, call into question my character, and make this personal because your feelings got hurt, then you can take your grumpy ass elsewhere.
