Not by me!

No, not at all - but it seems to happen all the time on this site, and the reasons are fairly obvious.

I speak up against aftermarket parts ( as I always do) and mention the specs of Echo saws - and then "everyone" hates me. Echo fans don't like specs, and others may not like what I say about aftermarket parts - and some of them may be influenced by the site owners.

Mmmkkkayy?

A "story" by whom? "total lack of judgement"?

You hijacked someone elses very detailed, informative, and time consuming porting thread to further your Anti-Echo agenda. You were asked to create your own thread, and to stop your sophomoric behavior. You chose to do neither.

Many members here, and on other sites have complained over the years about your curmudgeon attitude, and your almost cultish disdain for anything from the Axis Countries.
I was asked repeatedly to parse out your posts that were detrimental, and of no intrinsic value to the thread referenced above. I let it go for a while, until your antagonistic, and open hostility became very clear.
Niko, as I explained to you in PM form (back when I removed your negativity, and gave you your own thread), I respect you for the wealth of knowledge you possess, and the friendship we once shared.
Unfortunately, you apparently feel that you have some above reproach ability. Well you don't, and frankly, if you want to stay and participate, great. If you want to continue to flog your dead Echo horse, fine, I could care less. However, if you want to make $hit up, call into question my character, and make this personal because your feelings got hurt, then you can take your grumpy ass elsewhere.

Tell that to someone else, that might believe you - of course I shouldn't have used the word "crap", and just referred to low power specs and antiquated ergonomics - but it didn't happen that way - and you "collected" my bad posts, and presented them as a thread I had started (I never did).

The fact is that I didn't start that thread, someone else did - likely you, based on what I have been told.

If you started that thread, you have to resign as a moderator of this site, as that was exactly the opposite of what a moderator should do.

It may be news to quite a few members that I didn't start that thread, it was you that did - pretending it was me.

What you did was totally unacceptable anyway, if the story I was told is correct.

You're delusional. You were asked to stop your antics, and it was suggested by many that you should start your own thread. As I have already stated, you chose to ignore everyone, and continue being a jerk. Did anyone think that you moved all of your biased, inflamatory, and harassing posts all on your own? I need to resign, because you are a disruptive malcontent, that has gone way off the rails. Really, Niko? You need to get a life.

I, for one, now only visit one saw forum - and it's this one. I don't contribute as much as I take away, but I genuinely appreciate this community.

I have absolutely no problem with any media source where the flow of money behind it is clear. I am disturbed when I don't know what's happening behind the scenes and don't know what bias is being played out. This forum is totally open about where the money is coming from, that is vastly better than "pay for comment", "fake news", and other hidden lobby groups and sponsorship.

Niko, I am concerned that your time with this forum is coming to a head - this disappoints me as you have made a massive, positive contribution to many of us through various forums.
I can see how this audience group is very narrow, and often disrespectful of the knowledge you have to share. Quite simply it is largely a group who are experienced saw modifiers who think a modified exhaust, adjusted timing, deleted base gasket and limiter removed carburettor constitutes a "standard" saw. Stock specifications are of little importance as very few of us would do more than run a tank through a new saw before modifications begin. Some manufacturers obviously choke saws to meet EPA needs and gain more from basic mods - whether this is right or wrong is of absolutely no importance to most on here.
China is now a major source of manufactured goods - this is a reality none of us can escape. Some world class manufacturers exist in china, and others will paint children's toys with lead paint. I don't like it, you don't like it, but it's a reality that is inescapable. Many of the issues with Chinese manufacturing are minimised by good local distributers.

I genuinely hope that you can find a way to accept those in this community that have a different opinion while still contributing.

I don't know how well you know him, but I've known him for many years on another saw related forum, always in a positive way.

If what I have been told is correct he has done totally unacceptable things as a moderator on here though, and if the story I have been told is true he should be removed as a moderator, because of a total lack of judgement.

Clipping out random statements that a member made in different threads (and contexts), and creating a new thread (with his own quite offensive title) starting with those clipped out statements isn't what a moderator on any forum should do.

Mistakes are made by us all Niko. Frankly, your behaviour in Red's thread was terrible.

We get it. You hate Echo chainsaws. You think there is a conspiracy here to make them look better than they are. You are entitled to that opinion as far as I'm concerned. But. You should not hijack anyone's thread and bash their subject matter. You were asked to stop. You did not. Also, you have never apologized for treating Joe the way you did. From where I sit you seem to think more about the subject than the person who created that subject. Perhaps that's a cultural thing....

Now....as I said mistakes are made by us all. Jon and I both are having to learn how to moderate this forum on the fly. We have seen a huge amount of growth in this past year, and at times have several things competing for attention. Maybe Jon went to far when he moved your posts to a new thread. I can see how that would upset you. As I said, we are still learning......and we will make mistakes.

I will remove that thread.

One other thing that you brought up here is the relationship between our site sponsors and the aftermarket parts industry. Lets talk about that.

Aftermarket parts are here to stay. We can use them, or not. We can like them, or not. What we have here is a chance to improve them. Bruce is one of the largest importers of these parts, and has been very good about dealing with quality concerns. He is able to talk directly to the manufacturers in many cases. Just like what happened in the motorcycle world with aftermarket parts, the next step is performance parts for saw engines. Will we get them perfect on our first try? Of course not, but we get samples, test them, send them back for revisions, get more samples, repeat.....

These parts are sent out to members for testing in many cases. Bruce gave away several top ends at the TN GTG.

Discussion?

Lets see, bash a well liked members work, question moderation, question site ownerships motives, deny any and all wrongdoing and you're still here and still *b-wording? I guess if you can't do it on AS and you need an outlet OPE is your only option.

Go try it on Sawhawgz, I'm sure you'll get a warm welcome. Oh,wait, you tried that. Didn't go so well.
