Maybe it depends on the year? I've had two 266 cylinders that I put on saws and on one of them the intake was much larger than the other.

I don't know what years the cylinders I had were, the one with the larger intake could have been a 268 cylinder and sold to me as 266 one.

Edit: I'm 200-300ft above sea level

Any you guys have a good carb?this carb is wacky.i already put a new kit in it.the high side runs either way to rich or to lean.thats hardly moving the screw.mines a HS224
