I knew this thread would :

Turn in to the injury Olympics.

Be twisted in to easy start vs non easy start disagreement.

Easy start saws are great for people that need them. Some makers do a better job at their effort to make them, that's all.

Well, since I started it, maybe I can wrap it up. It's been a good 10 years since I did much with a chainsaw, and 15-20 since anything "serious". The Poulan/Craftsman top-handle was easy to start from day one in 1986. Just an hour ago I got re-acquainted with how easy my H-350 starts with that compression release. I was spoiled. So lately, that Jonsered CS2238 was really causing me fits. As if it looked up at me and said "So you think you can still start a chainsaw?! Get a load of this!"

So I was curious. And I learned everything that I hoped for, and a whole bunch more. Mission accomplished. Thank you all.
