MahleWhat manufacturer cylinder does that 670 have?
Thats suprising considering it has the lip in the boot too that has to be streched over. I thought it was a pretty bullet proof design. Maybe not. Could be a casting flaw/seam on intake thats not letting the clamp seal properly? Id motoseal the whole thing and jam it on.

I've had a couple of Jred 2051 and 2055's leak from that boot. And it wasnt the rubber, it was the seal. I dont know if its the oblong shape and maybe the sealing clamp gets out of shape? Stihl has the best intake design IMO for years. I've got a 2051 here thats leaking from the boot whenever it warms up, dont know if the clamp is expanding. I'm going to take it off tomorrow and see whats up with it...
I just put a Hyway 268 pop-up in my early 266se along with a base gasket delete. Night and day difference! Noticeably more power and holds rpm better in the cut.Building a 266xp with a 268 closed port cylinder

It's strange there's all kinds of am source's for every part of a 61/268/272
Except this washer
I guess they don't use them just like none of my 365/372 clones have had the o-ring on the clutch side.
The four I've done ended up between 13,650-13,950. They all had different cylinders, 266 268 670 272. I used the the same numbers on all of them, 102-122-78.What type of rpm do you see when these are ported.
