550 xpg is my choice, but I also like the good old 346 oe.

I never hold or tested the new ms 261, but if it's shaped the same way as the old 261 it's to bulky for my taste, I actually had one 545 in my car when I went to visit one local Stihl dealer last week lol

I'd have to take my "new" Husky 353, but only because it weighs a tad less than any of my Stihl 028 Supers. The Husky 353 is a screamer and it should never have been discontinued. But then, the 028 Super should never have been discontinued either. MFG's often make mistakes.

Anyone else see that Chainsawr.com has a pallet of NOS redmax g5300's for $500ea? They should have the mag crank cases and 353 top ends with removable covers.
What did they sell for? My dealer has one for 4 something.

A 50cc saw would be a good all around option. But for me and what I do I'm sticking with a two saw plan ( 40cc and 70cc). I generally run a 70cc non stop and the three guys running the chipper will have their tongues hanging out. I don't bother stopping to pick up a limbing saw. Just my .02

Guess I might should add, the Craigslist around here is loaded with cheap 026's. So I might end up with a 50cc class saw yet. Dang CAD disease, what can you do "face palm ".

Make sure it's a 026 PRO. They rarely go cheap.

Thanks. I assumed the 026's were all pros. I'm still learning[emoji849]

They are all pro saws, but the pro model has an adjustable oiler (that's proven to oil less than the non adjustable one), and a decomp button (not sure that's needed on a 50cc saw). I've been into quite a few, as well as @drf255, and all a pro model gets you is a plastic badge that fades until you can't read it.

Dont forget those classic Huskies 154/254's.
Their AV isnt supreme as 346 and 550, a tad more heavier, but they're very strong, and last almost forever.
In their time they was the most sold firewood saw in Norway by a huge margin compared to 242 and 262.

I very rarely go into the woods without a 346 the handling is hard to beat.
@skippy the 357 is considered a 60cc saw.
I handled a 261 at a gtg it was smooth as butter running a 325.It was a little to slow for my liking though.
