I believe that the 562xp requires a g-string and the ms400 requires granny panties if I understand correctly. It really comes down to your choice in panties and whether or not they are prone to bunching.

I guess I'm not sure what you're getting at here Bill. I said the 590 is a great value. I said the 400 is hot. Didn't mention CCs at all. I guess I figure most guys aren't gonna import a saw, but you're right, I didn't mention that as an option. I did look at the OP's location to see if he was in Canada because then I wouldn't have used the availability of heated handles as a selling point for the 562.
We live in market of international trade. Things are shipped among 6 continents every second. Just cause a local box store does not have it does not mean it is unavailable.

Thanks for all the info everyone. Sounds like the stihl ms400 is hard to beat with the lightest weight and most power, if cost is no concern.
Are the stihl ms400's holding up well to heavy use????
How is the new version husky 562xp mark 2 holding up and doing in hot weather use????

In the end the best saw will be the one that puts stems on the ground, a smile on your face, wood in the stove, and logs on the truck. Pick one that you feel you will have dealer support for in the future which of course is highly unpredictable now. There are folks that cannot see outside the narrow train of thought they have. Some love Husky, some love Stihl, some love Dolmar, some love Echo.............Hell I love Homelite. Every company made/makes good saws and they all make/made turds.

Swedish fjord, maybe?
Don't do it bro! Yer Swedish children will take twice as long to cut a fkn tree:

Half dozen extra cuts where hinge wood might pull fibers. To save wood that has no value.

Yer children will also wear full body orange kevlar track suits in the forest and carry three felling axes and 2 felling levers all through the woods. Then, they'll come to America with 16 inch .325 bars on 70 cc saws and tell pnw cutters that their barsare too long.

They will play 90's techno music all day. The upside is: they will limb pecker poles faster than anybody.

Anyhow, just stick with good ole midwestern, hidden valley ranch.

One other thing that to me rules out many newer saws from being "best" - does it have electronic fuel control (i.e., does it need to be programmed or diagnosed on a computer)? If so, it certainly isn't a "best" saw for someone who works on their own equipment. I would never buy a saw with Autotune or M-Tronic systems given a choice and access to older, field-serviceable technology. For me, old-school is "best" and is still offered by some manufacturers in brand-new saws still today, and those are the ones I purchase because for me the electronic ones are to be avoided at all costs. I don't care how great they run. Eventually I won't be able to repair them myself. Heck with that.

It all depends on your needs, expectations, price range, and abilities. There certainly is no one (or five) "best" unless you realistically define some of these parameters based on your own situation to narrow down the field.

Which part?
The model is MS400CM-VW
The Stihl item number is MB012000009

The price of the MS400 C-M, VW with 16 in. bar listed in the link works out to around $1,400.00 USD if accurate. I subtracted their 19% sales tax from the listed price. 1 Euro is equal to 1.10 USD today.

You really don’t get it do you? Do you think the others in this thread just decided it would be a good time to hate on you? I know your history but many in here don’t. You’re not being called a troll because it’s a problem everyone else in this forum has. You’re getting picked on because it’s a you problem.

see ya later bub. You no longer have privileges in this thread. Keep after it and I’ll swing the hammer on all your accounts. Your choice.
Perfect solution. Thank you Brad.

I ain't got no patience. And I swear I get less each year. I tend to just hit the eject button. We're lucky to have you.

Amen. I started typing an argumentative post to reply but then just took the high road and cut it short. He clearly wasn’t backing down and I haven’t been in the mood to do too much dick swinging lately.

Very true. Too much rage about speed thru a log on stands. That has very little to do with real world work and usage, reliability, repairs etc. Don’t get me wrong some cookies here and there can be fun for entertainment or tuning…but many people use that to determine what is the “best” saw. There really is no “best” saw so to say. What works great for one may not for another. I myself enjoy all flavors!

I haven’t heard much on the 562xp mkII. Perhaps that means it is holding up better that the original. Someone on here has to have some first hand experience or customers that do.
