Very true. Too much rage about speed thru a log on stands. That has very little to do with real world work and usage, reliability, repairs etc. Don’t get me wrong some cookies here and there can be fun for entertainment or tuning…but many people use that to determine what is the “best” saw. There really is no “best” saw so to say. What works great for one may not for another. I myself enjoy all flavors!
I'm in the woods today on the last spring snow. No tachometer around. No burr grinders. No youtubers talking bout bigger carbs and unlimited coils and 620 cylinders.

Yep, I'm just letting my Timberwolf be a timberwolf.

I aint kink-shameing or anything, but there's some fkn sickos out there, that expect a 590 to identify as some other lifeform. Dyed plastics and all sorts of meth-fueled sht.
It doesn't have to identify as a PW.

It amazes me that the myth still persists about auto tuning saws that they are too complicated to use/work on/repair. All they do is tune themselves with simple electronics, that's it. I've yet to see one that did not tune itself, yet they get blamed for every kind of failure that any saw can have.

Man u guys sure do like drifting threads. Time to bring this sht back solidly into 60-69 cc territory.

It is 9pm and i am still in the woods. My not so best timberwolf just made me the best gift. A seat with beveled contours! That will also be used as firewood.

This thread has me more curious about the echo saws. I never gave them much thought in the past. I have a backpack blower from echo and I highly recommend it. It performs better than the husky I had after a premature failure on the husqvarna 580 forced me to shell out for a new blower.
What bar mount does echo use?
Mainly just having a little fun talking saws again thanks guys

The 50cc Echo saws use an Oregon K216 mount (K095 can be easily modified to work)
The 60cc Echo saws use an Oregon D176 mount.
The 7310 uses an Oregon D009 mount.

Which part?
The model is MS400CM-VW
The Stihl item number is MB012000009

Well, that's what my post was about. The version of the MS 400 with the engine, with the displacement you stated, which is 66.8 cm³, does not have a version with heated handles, so there is only the MS 400 C-M. The heated handles have the new version with the 62.6 cm³ engine. This has been discussed many times here and elsewhere. There are plenty of other changes to the MS 400.1, such as no magnesium alloy piston, a different air filter and more.
Unfortunately, this is not followed by a lower price. Right now you can order it (MS 400.1 C-M) directly from Stihl's German online store for €1499, which works out to about €1260 ($1378) without tax. The MS 400(.1) C-M VW version is still only in small quantities at dealers.
In comparison, the MS 400.0 C-M costs €1489 in the same store.

Even the song "The Best" has at least 2 different versions: Tina Turner and Bonnie Tyler.

Even though the Tina version is the only known song, I like the Tyler version better.

Obviously I'd go for the underdog version. Also, she had layyyyyyzers coming out of her ear holes. So 80's hot.

Thanks for all the info everyone. Sounds like the stihl ms400 is hard to beat with the lightest weight and most power, if cost is no concern.
Are the stihl ms400's holding up well to heavy use????
How is the new version husky 562xp mark 2 holding up and doing in hot weather use????
Pretty happy with the 562 mark 2 so farIMG_1972.jpegIMG_1975.jpeg

There are good 60cc saws available from Stihl, Echo, and Husqvarna. The 66cc MS400 looks like a great chainsaw and it's expensive. Two years ago, after researching 60cc saws for cutting firewood, I got an Echo CS-620P with a 24" bar. These are a good value! I cannot rationalize spending 40% more on a Stihl that is not 40% more powerful nor 40% lighter. For others the Stihl MS400 makes sense, for my firewood cutting needs and budget the 620 is perfect. It will cut 30"+ oak all day long and it always starts easily, cold or hot. My next C.A.D. fix is coming soon a CS-7310P w/32" bar. I'm hoping that will ward off the chainsaw acquisition DTs for a few months! 1000019182.jpg

I probably get a bigger gain from the 620 than any 60cc saw I do. A ported 620 can be had for about the same price as a stock 60cc Stihl or Husqvarna.
