Dropped a new maul in the FedEx truck for me today.
Whomever replied letting me know they were sending a replacement stated all their axes were made in Sweden though, which I thought slightly comical since it is documented in multiple places that this model is manufactured in Italy….

My consensus is that there is no best. Only best for the wood you are splitting. Some wood needs a blunter profile so as not to get stuck. Some wood the blunt will just bounce and needs a sharper profile. As the wood gets smaller it matters less…except for Aleppo pine. Small pieces are still incredibly tough. Maybe easier once dried to brittle. Bigger wood, heavier splitter…smaller as they break down.
