Thank you for that information. I’m still hoping to get another axe or 2 from the estate..Made for Montgomery Wards by Mann Edge Tool Co.
More than likely Pre WW2.
Considered their top grade.
Other grades were Lakeside (Kelly) & Eclipse (Plumb)
They are great axes.
Use that thang!
Had a chance to buy a rare MQ 1.75lb hatchet head recently & was surprised at the VG overall finish quality!Thank you for that information. I’m still hoping to get another axe or 2 from the estate..

I've seen you in this thread before....
Axes and associated items
I split some 30-36" red oak today with my wetterlings and stihl branded ox like the one above. I dont care for how fat the handle is on the ox but it flat works. As does the wetterlings but I am quite impressed with the ox splitting ax. Looking forward to trying the maul. I also hate the...opeforum.com

Hes a HIGH$$$ Dozer super model now, hes showing more & more leg each pic he takes on the Dozer. Lol
I saw a pic the other day of a double cut down to a single. Pretty cool. Svelte
Both great ideas....or just cut and re profile that one where it's busted and give it a fat bullet splitting profile.
NarlyRecently dead oak l.
Had to cut the splitter out with a saw
Worked good on pine…

Not a good sign, I have there small forest axe that has been good , no issues,Any of y’all have one of the newer Husqvarna mauls? 15 min in today and noticed the poll mushrooming. They say it’s supposed to be hardened. Banging on council wedges in live oak.
Lower side of the striking face in the photo. Even with the gap at the back bottom of the head, it hasn’t loosened the handle one bit.

Shame that it’s out sourced out of Sweden , unfortunately it happens to often these days,I have the small Forest axe and use the carpenters axe as a hatchet since I like the longer handle.
Both of those are made in Sweden. The maul (newest part number) had a tag stating made in Italy though. Only maker I can think would be or Prandi in Italy.
