Big man points to chop out a beam with one of those. It helps to have two so you’re sore on both sides afterwards.

Stroax.

Husky just arrived. I bet it will work better than I like it. Plastic handle means no soul, but axe guru Ben Scott says if you bought only one axe for everything this would be it.

Cyclone 4.5, almost the same size as the stro. Rings like it too. Have a whole pile of axes in the back seat of the Derge, maybe test ‘em with my brother and or @Ketchup.

Yawn... Bored...

A $8 36" full size handle was dying inside to be a 26" handle (perfect year for that)!

2.25# Boys axe head is going on it.
Just hard to decide which one.

It's my pride handle, I call it "Dall".

.562 diameter, G10 rod, 3" length on each side of that cut, with .25 G10 flat type knife scales cross pinning threw that main rod (will have 2- .25" G10 crosspins (like a knife handle with 2 pins).

One on Right is a 14" US made & a child's bat with a Kerf!

Great rainy day read guys. Recently broke the handle on my homestead axe.

Great tip on the card scraper.
Years ago an old guy showed me how to use broken glass the same way for removing sprayed on gun stock finish. It does not open the pores and takes way less sanding steps.

Finished up this Fulton/Merit 1.6lb hatchet last weekend.
Its prolly 100 years old.
It's going to another home at some point as I have more hatchets than I can use now.
Buddy has a large booth @ an Antique Mall & they go quick there.

Just trying to keep you axe slackers motivated! Lol

I don't know if you've said or not, but do you refurbish, hang and sell all these, or are they all for your personal collection?

I just like the history of old tools like axes/hatchets specifically (hammers).

It's just a hobby.
I've kept alot, & sold alot.
My passion comes from hanging axes.
It's a lost art.
I'm down to 22 axes/hatchets.
