592XP info and a surprise

I thought Andy's 592 ran pretty good considering it just came out a box. The earlier videos made me feel the 592 lacked 90cc torque. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a 572/592. But given the fact the 395 is really a 100cc chassis saw and may be the last available my next present to myself will be a new 395xpg (hopefully g). And it will remain in a box unfueled with its original scrench for years to come.

And I have the opposite experience. My 572 will oil a 32 plenty. Every stihl newer than my old ms460, I felt like, oiled like crap.

Odd. The 660, 440 and 460 had weak oil output without upgrading the control bolt and piston to the HO parts. The 3 series were always better than those saws. The 572 is iffy with a 28" bar. But then again, I cut a lot of crazy dry Ash that sucks up bar oil like $.50 prostitute.[emoji1787]

The current Stihl models are way better IMHO than the old non HO pump on the old 660, 460 and 440.

I can safely say the 592 does not lack torque, not one bit. I'm actually leaning toward it being the strongest saw out of the box I've ran, you can lean on it all you want. That log is stone hard and it was still frozen. I've had a few 880's, 3120's that felt so choked up out of the box that it was sad. I can say the transfer tunnels are huge looking.

It's early, very early, but I think this saw will be more successful than the 572xp, it doesn't feel that much heavier or larger, yet light-years more power. I've always felt the 572 was a bit sluggish, even after a lot of fuel. Both have similar rugged design philosophies.

I have a 661 her to compare against the 592. I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up just a bit.

@andyshine77 does the 592 hold more fuel/oil than the 661? That was one of my dislikes about the 661 when I ran it, I thought it didn’t hold quite enough fluids for a 90cc saw. Runtimes were rather short per each tank.

I like the 462 up to 28" after that, I'd grab a bigger saw. And yes, the 462 will pull a 32", but I agree that's pushing it in hardwood. The oilers, well I'm actually not a fan of the oil output on the 572, the 462 and 500i do better with the pin pushed in. That's my experience anyway.

Maybe it's not putting out what it should. That saw is said to put out 22 ml per minute at max. Maths says it's empty at 18.5 minutes.?

My 572 oil the bar good and a 32 inch bar good. Now my 660 a 36 inch bar dozen oil well. First time using the bar in oak the paint off the bottom bunt the bar Turn over about bunt paint off the other Side(stihl Light weight bar)
The old heavyweight 36 didn’t have much problem with that.

My 572 oils the 28 and 32 as good as my 2171’s. It’s about empty with a tank of fuel. All I cut is dry dead ash as well. I actually though it ran quite well in stock form with just a muffler mod. To each and their own I guess

I thought that may be the same, o even replace the oiler, same deal. Others have complained saw well, so I don't know.

Part of it is my experience with saws like the 7900, and other ported saw, a guy can get a bit jaded overtime. The 572 definitely has more snot than any stock 372 ever did.

Agreed! Mines ported and runs real well but it don’t have the nasty feel of my 2171’s. I still like running it more than them though even though it’s a little slower and heavier. It’s so smooth, really like the auto tune and is better on fuel. Thus the reason for me wanting a 592. I’ve ran 395’s and never cared for them even though they’re a beast. When I ran the 592 Kevin had at the MN firewood cut I knew I wanted one. It felt more like a 390 than a 395 as far as weight and feel.

Specs on paper and timed cuts I thought I would prefer the 462 but after using it and 572 for a few months I found I much preferred the 572. 592 looks like it’s going to be a great saw, hope I can try one out soon.
