I think I'm "decently" tuned now at least for the options available to me.

Two days ago was the first trip I got to take to and from the WV hills grossing 26-27k. It was probably the best trip I've ever had. Before on most of the hills I would pull down to 25mph and be grabbing gears non stop. But this time I never dropped below 45mph. Most of the 45mph hills were because there was another truck in front of me or if it was a long hill I had to run the splitter to raise rpm to cool it down. Dropping road speed in the process. On very long pulls it would climb slowly to 1250/1300. So nothing really terrifying and I probably could keep it up there but I'd rather not have this rig break down any time soon lol. This also leads me to believe the old AD injectors were junked even though they would pass the buzz test.

My current build specs.
Orion - single shot tunes from PHP running level 5 "250hp" setting
160/0 injectors from Full Force diesel
Kc300X stage 1 63/68/.83
Homemade 4" Downpipe, 5" Donaldson muffler, 4" factory stack
Bellowed uppipes
910 valve springs
ARP head studs
Dual Super Duty pumps - Removed mechanical lift pump
DIY Regulated return with fuel bowl delete (Set at 65-67 PSI)
Hiflow Banjo bolts
CNC Fab Hpop Lines
Riffraff crossover
Some Ebay Plenums

My father's house finally sold so we have to start getting stuff out. We started with his car.

Also I don't have any boost leaks or uppipe leaks. Once I get my exhaust pressure gauge hooked up I'm thinking of cranking down on the waste gate some.
Besides that do you know of any other things I could do. I thought about water/methanol, but everyone is like "you don't need that with good tuning".

I didn't even have to drive this trip. So I got to get some photos and videos.

P.s. please ignore my duct tape gauges . I have a piece of kydex I need to bend for them.

I've also decided next year when I do the transmission I'm also going to chop the rear off frame and lower the bed as well so I can do 5th wheels and make the bumper pull hitch closer to axle.

The only issues I found yesterday morning was the front fuel filter was seeping. I tightened it down. The regulator mount broke. So I'll make that out of some mild steel to hold up to vibration or maybe a rubber mount. Then there some oil on valley probably from the HPOP. I don't know if I should try and hunt down the leak or just replace it all together.

I burned 67/68 gallons of fuel for 461miles. Really the mountains I don't think did it as much as the flat land. So a transmission with an overdrive would be nice.

I even got the snapped off bolts out. They had been sitting in some high dollar penetrate for over a year . A little heat and they came right out with a set of vise grips. Frankly it was the thing I was worried about the most.

I'm also thinking of buying a EFI sniper system for it. Since they have a soft install kit now, that way he can do more time driving it then fuzzing with the quardajet that's on it.

While not a compound nor a medium duty I do also own 5.9 12 valve with a 71mm single. working on and maintaining it both financially and physically it's a better motor than a 7.3/6.0/66 or whatever other V motor you can think of.

I was actually thinking of swapping the International for a DT466 NGD and do a set of compounds. But then I remembered the transmission sat further back and I'd have to loose my center console.

Then I started thinking of a 12 valve but I didn't want to have to fab up litterally every single thing on motor.

I figured 3k or 4k in coin on a performance rebuild. Over build it with head studs and main studs. Only do 300hp and don't think about it for at least another 300k miles.
You should of considered the DT360, the 466’s little brother. It’s 10 times the motor a 5.9 Cummins ever dreamed of being.

If I do a different motor it's going to be a DT530 since it's a direct swap with my wiring harness and my tuning tools work with it. Only downside and this is with all the inlines is I'll lose my center console since the transmission sits further back.

Maybe I quoted the wrong post, I was referring to the guy who put a 5.9 in one. There’s nothing wrong with a 444e/7.3. We have 4 of them. You’ve done way more to yours than needed for the power. You will benefit with a single shot injector. Those KC turbos do spool nice and quick. My brother has one on his truck. We also have 2 with T-4 kits on them. I just changed out the H2 for a 366sxe.

Man I would pull down to 25mph in hills. An old boss has two old mechanical dt466 and stock to stock it would yank this thing all over the place. Flatlands it's perfectly fine. But them hills kill.

Now however it's pretty decent nothing compared to the newer engines. But it works.

A mechanical 466 is probably the best engine ever put in a class 6/7 truck. If you got 275hp now it should run circles around anything new that’d be in the same class since none of those little trucks have more than 200-215. Everyone seems to thinks a 6cyl has so much more torque but they don’t it’s just at 200 less rpms so gears and matching it are very critical. Don’t get me wrong I’d take a mechanical DT any day. Just for the simple fact hp is so dam easy to get out of them. There’s a reason they’re so dominant and abundant in the tractor pulling world. A mechanical 5,9 in a big truck is a joke really. Common rail ones do all right. We have one in F650 at work and it’s adequate. All those those class trucks have a 100 less hp than they should have

Well the new CV trucks from international make 350hp from factory now. I was actually aiming for 300hp because last year's that's what they were rated. Then this 2021 model was 350hp but if I can crank it all the way up and still be workable (probably not) I could make that too.

My biggest reason for the inlines is they are just easier to work on and build. With that 530 which is just a stroked and larger bore 466. Would give me a great deal of wiggle room for workable power
