How was the C33 chain? I have been very happy with the C85 the last days on a 560 xp.

Burned a tank of gas on my experimental loop of S83 a couple evenings ago. Out of the box, It is not as impressive as the Sp33 or the C83. I threw it on the bench and ran through it with a file and lowered the rakers a bit. We'll try it again tomorrow.

I will be giving these a try once my old loops are done.

But to be really honest, once I started touching up after each tank, I am amazed at how much tooth degradation happens in clean hard/soft wood after a tank. That applies to all the major brands.

It changes depending on the wood and how it's been sharpened but I have seen full chisel drop off 10-15% in a tank of fuel. It happens gradually, it still cuts well, just not as fast as it did intially.

There is a crossover point with full vs semi that happens when the cutting speed of the semi holds on and ends up being faster. It can happen reasonably quickly or over a couple of tanks.

Plenty of people will say their FC cuts great after 3 or 4 tanks and it does, but make a few test cuts when it just been sharpened and come back after 2 tanks and make a few more. The drop off is significant

I like the 20/21 LPX/LGX. Nice to file, cuts smooth and holds its edge well. Normally priced very well compared to Stihl here

They work well , I’ve been using them for awhile, with other brands , WCS has some good stuff, Gordy a good dude to .

File plates arrived today. They look to be heavy duty and nicely made. Interesting note..the C33 rakers came in@.025" and they had grinder marks from being set. The C83 rakers were high@.020" and were not touched up. File time.

I always give one light swipe of raker , on new C83 chain .

An observation...the 23RS Pro is .030" narrower across the rivets and has a .050" narrower cutter than its cousin 23RS(C)
