162 oil cap thread dims :

Minor thread diameter in case: 20.85mm/.821”.
Thread depth : ~2mm

So 162 cap thread major diameter would be 24-24.5mm.

61 case minor dia: 23.9mm
61 cap minor dia.: 23.45mm
Cap Thread height :1mm

61 cap major dia.: 26.47mm
Thread height in case (est) 2mm
61 case major dia (est) 27.9mm

there are 2 different 61 caps...the older ones are the same as the 44 cap.

Chunk of HDPE plastic, warm up the tip end so it becomes soft , push and twist it into the tank hole - repeat if neccessary.
It should deform enough to take on the tank holes thread shape.

I did this a couple times, although for oil plugs in cast iron cases , as such I could use high force.

Nylon works too.

After getting a good enough "thread" remove excess material and shape to Your desire.

Just a thought!

Good night.
