How things change

I was browsing the local classifieds and found an 066 the same as the one I have, but its in MUCH better nick.
Old mate selling it said he bought it 5 years ago in perfect, as it came out of the box condition and has used it for a bit of firewood cutting.

He has no idea if the chain is 3/8 or 404 so I figure he has never changed the chain.
That has me thinking its still on its original bar and first chain.

I have committed to buy it but he was out with his mates on the turps so will ring him tomorrow morning to arrange the purchase.
Fingers crossed it goes as planned and I get it.

Plan is to build my saw on this newer unit and sell the old one to re-coup costs. I would keep them both if I could afford it.
JMS, I still want that P&C...... I shouldn't need to explain to anyone on here why I want a spare P&C and they are just not laying about spare here in Aus.

Yes Yes YES!

Just bought the 066 in the link above
Still factory original and on its original bar and chain.

Old mate said it would be lucky to have cut up 100 meters of wood

I have a rifle scope I don't use that I might sell to cover the cost and keep them both :-)

Thinking about it on the way home, I don't know if I can justify 2 x 90cc saws when I just cut firewood for myself

Plan is to build a great saw with the best bits from them both and move one on

I just can't justify 2 066's when I have bills to pay as well.

I have my 026 and the 039 as a backup saw

I really am in love with the 1122's

I dont know what the people that sell things are thinking when they make them.

The velocity stack did not have enough clearance for a socket to turn the nut that holds it and the carb down.
I guess it is made for a screw and screwdriver?

Tonight I made a flat base drill from a 13/64th drill bit which measured 11.8mm to get clearance for the socket.

I ground the drill flat, then bevveled each side slightly to create the 2 cutting edges. It worked perfectly first go.
I also took the holes a few mm deeper to get a full nut worth of thread out the top.

Now I just need to put it in a mates lathe and bore the inside out to match the carb
