Is the crank centered?

Yes Yes YES!

Just bought the 066 in the link above
Still factory original and on its original bar and chain.

Old mate said it would be lucky to have cut up 100 meters of wood

I have a rifle scope I don't use that I might sell to cover the cost and keep them both :)
What kind of scope?

I've seen them new that was blue but I've seen them that wasnt. I don't know what to think about it other than it don't hurt anything.
I've got a few that the bearing is shot in that aren't blue.
Your neighbor that works for Stihl would be the one to bounce this off of

I have seen new saws with a blued end here or there, but Stihl runs them in at the factory
I have not seen a new replacement assembly with blue on either end
I have not seen any big end, that has been relieved, turn blue

Neighbor says he pays no attention to the blueing. He said the same as me,some are some aint. I think if it's done by running the saw then it has to be bad but if repeated heat and a specific chemical in the oil could blue it like gun metal. Urekka! I think I just figured it out.

I have had a look at it and it does look like gun blue. There is no damage and it feels tight and smooth.
I am starting to think it could be a heat/chemical reaction with the metal and oil.

What kind of scope?

Sightron SII Big Sky 6-24 with target dot
Gorgeous scope, will only sell it if I have to.
Will probably sell my 039 first as they are a dime a dozon and Sightron no longer make that model scope.
It was so good it was slowing sales of the more expensive SIII scopes

Decided to keep both the 066's

The nice one I have on the way will be my fire wood saw that will be loved and kept in top notch condition.
This one will be built as the milling saw as I really want to get into milling some slabs.

This afternoon after work I decided to get the case cracked.
I had a think about how I was trying to remove the flywheel and moved the nut in further so I hit the shaft and nut.
2 hits and it came off

Removed all the screws, tapped out the pins and heated the case around the flywheel side bearing which is smaller.
Held that side of the case and gave the shaft a few good hits with a hard nylon hammer and out she came
Then sat the clutch side of the case on some bits of timber, warmed up the case and once again, a few good hits with said nylon hammer and it was separated.

Will measure up bearing seating depths and seal seating before I go too much further but am in no rush at the moment waiting on parts.

The clutch side bearing feels rough and bumpy, flywheel side is smooth.
Glad I split it as the I was worried about fitting a nice new P&C on it and have a bearing go after a few tanks

A job worth doing is worth doing right!
