You also need to be aware of 1 of the 2 sorts of clutch drum drive sometimes found on the 42 and 242. Some of the 42/ 242 ( and on some 254 xp saw ) have a drive that only turns the pump when the clutch is engaged ( not constant pumping ) . You will see the same fitment on the 246 and it means finding a near imposable clutch drum to drive the top left worm drive in the picture on Tor's post . You can see the slots for the drive to slot into. There is another sort of plastic worm drive that engages around the shaped needle roller bearing /sprocket stem of the clutch drum ( I think ?) . Pics are the best i can find for now....Clutch, worm gears and oil pumps.

Yeah, dont trust their IPL, there was 2 different oil pumps (22mm vs 17mm):

I clean the prefilter at least once a week David.Tor how often do you find the need to clean the air prefilter? Do you just use compresed air?
