I just caught myself reminiscing How and why I joined Arborist Site then How and when I ended up here on OPE.
AS was for me I needed answers on my Stihl 056 MAGNUM II then a few months later I was introduced to OPE by Definitive Dave. (First I knew Dave was on AS)
I began thinking that it would be a good thread for members to share what drew them join to OPE.
If you wish to ignore the truth you can embellish as much as your imagination is. able. Don't be surprised with comments you get.

I’ve seen that, and I think of it every time I see the “Chimp with the gun”

I ASSUME the gun was mofified/PORTED.

UTube has a video of some one giving a fully automatic (Loaded) gun to a chimpanzee. the camp was empty in seconds.

I would rather hand a loaded gun to a chimp than some of the numbskulls I had to put up with when I worked at a gun shop. I was very glad that they had a strict rule of trigger lock stays on until the transfer goes through and the gun is paid for!

Took a concealed carry certification at a gun shop with a range in N.C. in the late 90s. Between the classroom and range, they had us drawing and dry firing in their showroom full of customers.

Our instructors are specifically not allowed to teach anything outside the approved curriculum. The only time you handle a firearm in the course is to demonstrate basic knowledge (how to load/unload, how to choose proper ammo, etc.) and the 7 yard range qualification.
