To start off with I finished off my 660 after being raped for parts.
Then on to the 084 which is in for major surgery. 3/4 built then onto the 394.
Finally got the new rim and sprocket and fitted that up. Ready for action.
Then tried my hand at some square filing of a chain

I had a busy weekend.

Broke out the pressure cleaner today, put on a rain coat and cleaned all the parts for the 268, a Stihl 064, echo 550, Husky 2100 and blasted all the gunk off the 090 I have.

pulled the top ends off the 2100 and the 090.

2100 is pristine but needs new rings with .048" ring gap.
090 has me a tad upset. Found the OEM jug has suffered some injuries in the past and also had the spark plug thread repaired. I discovered this when bubbles blew out around the spark plug when I turned the motor over with the spark plug in tight.

Not happy, and not real sure of what to do with it.
The piston and inside the motor looks really nice

At this stage I am thinking of putting a bit of devcon in the chipped section on the top to help it seal?

There is a helicoil wire insert repair in there that will make a proper repair more complicated. If you can get the heilcoil out some how a solid insert would be the cure, my kit is Savathread by Helicoil but others would encourage the Timesert. In any case I would find someone that can set it up in a mill and spot face the plug seat, not sure that will work with the coil repair in place.

Don't worry, I have used the kit a few times but bought additional inserts on line. One of the saws repaired was JRA' s SP125.

Its turning into a minefield.

I am thinking I will just get it to run and sell it cheap. Every second screw I undo is another cost and 2 days work.
Out of the 3 big saws I picked up cheap, I am going to sell the Stihl 076 Super and 090 and keep the husky 2100 for a milling saw.

Sell it as is on ebay, make it somebody else's problem.

Yeah I think I will.
I will order replacement parts for the rear handle, make a new front AV mount and fix the top bar which will increase value a lot.
get it so that it kicks up and runs and advertise it.

You can still get 262xp decals on ebay. I have bought several and they are nice. The 'g' decal is the one we cant get that Tor has available to him. They are like finding a needle in a haystack.

most of the xp sale in Norway where xpg saws, when first people wanted one xp saw they more or less always bought the xpg version, different is like 40$ xpg vs xp.
Semi pro saws has always been populare, so has xpg saws, pure xp saws not.
It wouldnt surprise me if I can buy xpg decor while I may not be able to buy xp decor.
I was happy that I could get those xpg decors, one of those 254 decals will go to @rattler when I can find rest of 254 xpg parts so that made me smile, but the part who really made me smile huge was the 242 fitting tool crankshaft kit, that one has been NLA for over a year, will bring the set to one mechanicer and made another set :)
