026 that needs the entire fuel system cleaned up and or replaced. It was sitting for 5yrs with ethanol fuel in it.

It's amazing How much that dirt can preserve the shape of a saw.

Anyone ever change an intake boot on one of these pieces of saw?

Those little plugs that hold the av rubber sure are fun for removal.
This one ended up with ethanol fuel in it which caused the intake boot flange to soften up enough to re-mold itself flush with the washer. No more ability to maintain a seal after that.


I replaced that and a carb kit and it's back in wood.

One thing that instantly bothered me with this set up is the tiny intake boot while running the HD carb. Here it is next to an 029/290 boot.

Got an MS660 rebuilt and running perrty good today. Gave the chain a good sharpening and will be sending it home tomorrow.

Another blocked fuel filter!!!

Needs new AV mounts, muffler, and a few other consumables and will be good to go.

Inside the motor is smick!

Just stripped down a little echo 550ESP

All that was wrong was a snapped muffler mounting bolt.

Drilled it out and repaired the hole.

Just needs 2 new screws and its good to go.

Had a look in the 575xp I got from this bloke and the front of the piston is smashed.

Finally he stopped using a saw for a legit reason

Don't know yet, it was bought as a dead saw to fix and flip.

Are they supposed to he good?

What is the advantage of the open port?

Open port is generally looked on as inferior to closed port. Closed port usually runs better. I don't know how true it all is, there's some open port saws around that run pretty damn good.

A 268 is a hell of a good saw tho
