Ok, I am after some advice here.
I have a 371 and a 372, both have stuffed big end crank bearings, the 372 case is sporting a lot of apoxy along the case under the muffler, one dead piston, a dead clutch, one missing oil pump....... I am thinking of making one runner from the bits.

Question, in the good 372 above, would the factory jug and 2 ring piston be better or worse than a single ring 371 piston and cylinder?

I prefer the single ring piston d

Haha. I'm a in line 6 guy. A real diesel shouldn't be V8. I'll take the rest of the pitfalls for a real engine. I've had all of them and GM is the bottom for favorite. If ford had an inline 6 I would have one. The bottom end torque here in out curvy hills is just better. I had a 7.3 and 6.4. They were ok. They had to be wound up too much to pull.

The NV 4500 is the one that lost 5th. The 5600 is a 6 speed.

I'm with you Mike!

I prefer I-6's too just not a cummins. Ford should of used the DT360 that IH wanted to sell them but Ford wanted a V-8 to appeal to the automotive world and it worked. They sold a boat load of them! They were building 1000 7.3's a day to meet demands

Friend of mine has a 47 or 4900 Lopro with a 360 and a seven speed. Sweet little farm truck.

While we are talking trucks I love my Duramax/Nissan 4wd. The big 6's are too big for the conversion. The Dmax is a lot more compact. But very surprised if the lack of mombo under 1700rpm. It just wants to sit between 2-3000 rpm.

Now onto saws. While I am waiting on bits for 2 saws I thought I would remove the covers off my twin echo and give a good clean. Was going all swimmingly till I took the muffler off

Re ring it. Tidy up the bore and that's all I can do. Wondered why it struggled to run 2 cylinders when cold.

I wish they had. I would probably been driving fords since the start. If the 466 didn't weigh so much I'd love to swap one into a F350 SRW.

Still cant believe this is a $30 saw
Will be closer to $100 once it has a new decomp, air filter bar and chain, but still, it is going to be a difficult one to advertise!

Yep. I am thinking the same thing.
I have 2 x 066's so I will sell one of them to make room for the 372.

That will give me a 026, 372 and 066 in the stable.

They must do that to get you to take to dealer.
The dealer here take about 40 euros for a full rebuild no matter what saw is pro or not and no matter how much time he spend for doing the job , now in the USA i have listen some prices of 60-70 dollars per hour. Maybe this is the reason that the most imortand tool is the pressure-vaccum pump :risas3:

It's great because it give me lots of cheap projects :D
If the dealer here say 100 per hour i will leave the saw for him gift and i will buy a new

The 371 I repaired for a friend was quoted $80/hr totaling $1150 for a scored piston and new bar and chain.

I did it for $460 with a couple hundred of that to cover my time for the full case split rebuild.

I, luke Tor and others on here, saw this as $$$ making opportunity.
