If the dealer here say 100 per hour i will leave the saw for him gift and i will buy a new
yeah, that is the sweet part living in a high cost land! Forgot to mention Huskies part prices :)
Btw, dealers are not so fond to get in a gift, they just can't send them in the trash since there is plastic, metal, electrical, etc in a chainsaw, they have to sort out those parts ;) hour price 100$......
Most of those gift saws are given away as freebies to those who are there on the correct time

That depend how good customer you are, and dealers are very different here, some of them are willing to do alot for good customers, but they have to survive, simple as that

Here the stihl work like this

standard prices for each repair for all dealers no matter how good or bad customer are you or how time need each dealer to do the repair

10 to 15 euros for see what is the problem with the machine

if you dont want to repair your machine you just loose this 10 or 15 euros

if you decide to repair it they delete this 10 euros from the finish price

for example if the repair cost ( parts and work ) is 100 you pay 90

all the others with the 100 or 60 or 80 euros per hour is just original robery

that part is probleby working the same way here, you dont take double payment.
Maybe those hour prices is because wages in general is higher here, taxes are higher for employers, buildings are more expensive.
I worked as industrial painter, everything who went into our building was at cost price 90$.
We where at lower rate when we was outside our working place, but never under 60$ an hour.

I am not against , the peoples take good money and have good life , but because i am 20 hours a day in contact with dealers i know very well how they think ( most of them ) if they can drink your blood they do with very pleasure

A local fella dropped off an echo CS 6702 that would tart but not run up. It just died as soon as you touched the throttle.

Checked hoses, compression, popped the top end off and cleaned it out, stripped the carb etc and when I got it back together it still would not run.

Out came the limiters on the carb and fed it some more fuel, and off she went.

A 359 that has been used for milling for the last 11 years is on my bench right now. Came in locked up, piston and cylinder badly scored. Split case, new bearings and seals, new clutch (old one was badly worn), new non cat muffler, consumables (fuel line, carb kit, boot, etc...), and new OEM 357XP top end. Should make for a real nice runner; also trying to talk the owner into a 395XP for the mill.
