What are you building with your milled wood?

Hey guys. Very new to the milling game and I’d like to ask your opinions. I have this 36-40” white oak that’s been laying around for me to get to it. I finally cut a disc off of it for a possible top. It was too big for my 30” granberg rails and 36” bar so I did it by hand. Just take a look at it. Is it worthy of my intentions or should it heat my house in the OWB?

I think because it looks dry it is less likely to check ... I'd try keeping it, nice piece!

Yeah I think I’ll give it a shot. I was a little bummed that the one spot was so punky. I basically removed it by hand. Rest of it is solid. I just read through a lot of this thread going back 5 years ago lol. It’s great to see all the suggestions for filling cracks and finish recommendations. And the awesome projects. Some seriously talented folks on here.

Those were brought by the one tree service for me to sharpen as I have time, no idea what’s there but I’m guessing at least a couple hundred.

Finishing up a gun cabinet for my Nephew (MechanicMatt), sides are Red Oak and Cross pieces are Shag Bark Hickory.

Also re-finished (filled cracks with epoxy and put on 3 coats of spar urethane) on two Hickory benches for my older daughter.

I'll be making a trip to NH tomorrow to deliver them to her.

Wife wants a dresser built into a new closet that I made. A buddy gave me some white cedar off one his stacks. Nice and light weight for the drawers. Maybe she will let me have a small drawer for my unmentionables. All the sawdust sucks any oil out of the concrete, so I will have a nice, clean floor again.

Yup, it didn't quite touch the bone. They said it was about the max that they could do at the walk-in.
