Got some boards milled. What would you do with the last one. Its about 3 inchs thick. Mill one more, leave it, or firewood?

The pre filter sure is nice. Nothing gets through and just tap the bag once in a while and it all just falls right off.

I was going to say, legs are easy if you have a radial arm saw! Just flip it face down and cut and chisel! Bench will be same thickness on both sides!

I got some of that oil Jeff, I will be trying it (when I get back to wood working!).

Currently cars, guns and fixing some saws!

And, today I'm 69!!! Making plans to go to the cabin for the WE, there will be 11 of us. Shooting, wood cutting, etc.

I will be the oldest, but my brother, daughter, nephew, niece and many of their kids will be there.

White oak boards I milled a few years ago, 50 grit belt sander, going to biscuit 2, maybe 3 together for a live edge table top. Going to finish with West Systems epoxy, might do a little stain coat before the epoxy. Will be my outdoor dining table that will sit under the gazebo

Haven’t tried it on milled lumber for outdoor projects yet, but the best protectant I’ve ever used on log homes, rough sawn siding and cedar decks is Sikkens. Spendy, but it lasts 5 years in the sun and doesn’t have any clear coating that flakes off

Kevin (LI Kevin), nice Oak slab, but if using epoxy for an outdoor project, be careful which stuff you use.

My research into it concluded that unless you have to "mask up" to use it, it will not last outside.

Looking forward to pics of the finished product.

For indoor use, the Ultra Clear seems to work great, and I just like a seal coat, not a flood coat.

My table is Chestnut Oak on both sides with a Red Oak in the middle, and the bench is Chestnut Oak.

The pedestals are 4" thick Red Oak, the unanticipated advantage (in the hunting cabin) is that mice will not get on it, they will not go upside down to make it to the top!
