Only recent MAC "work" pictures I have:
Special bar design I have been working on to reach around the stem to trim branches. Seriously this was the best I could field straighten a 45 degree bend resulting from hanging the MAC in a supporting tree. Friend at a machine shop finished straightening it.
Mike, just give me a call some time. I could easily put together two small carb kart saws but I really wanted to build a sleeper with a big BDC under the hood. As to sharpening, I just want to get good enough for consistent firewood work - no racing for me.

Can anybody help me identify this old Mac? Maybe educate me a bit about it as well. I have never worked in a saw this old. I can't find any serial number or model number. Buddy of mine just gave it to me. He figured I'd like it. He was right. I plan on doing a full resto on it at sometime.

It's a 15. The serial number is stamped in the lower handle around the carb area. 80cc from around the early/mid sixties. Uses the same carb kits as a Tillotson HL but less the diaphragm since it is gravity fed.

I have been collecting literature and documentation for some time, recently I decided to go through it all and try to get it somewhat organized. I have the IPL's pretty well sorted out and filed using some vintage McCulloch binders. In addition to the saws I have an assortment of generators, blowers and vacuums, string trimmers, brush cutters, edgers, hedge trimmers, power washers, gas powered drills, etc.
I also have a stack of duplicate IPL's so if anyone has a specific need, I may have one for you.

I assume my 380 (magnesium, not the plastic one) came with bar guide plates. I have seen a few on eBay, but there are different sizes. What set should I use for my saw? I have attached a picture of the mount end of the bar I have for it. There were no plates on it when I got it. If someone has an extra set for sale that will work, I would be interested

There are quite a few part numbers and designs that will work on that saw, best bet is to buy a set for the large frame saws (3/8" bar studs) and have a go.
The 380 should have the bar adjuster in the clutch cover and won't use the scalloped slot in the bar for adjustment, that's a good break.

Thanks. I am buying all of the old McCulloch inventory from a local saw shop on Friday if all goes as planned. He has several NOS parts of that vintage there. With any luck there will be a set in one of those boxes. I know there was a few of the canister mufflers and at least one bottom handle brace to fit that saw in the parts I have seen. I already picked up a muffler from the batch!
