Worked perfect thank you!

Good stuff! Make sure you don't loose the small rubber pipe that is likely still attached to the back of your pump. It goes in the hole at 2 Oclock.

You just saved me a ton of hassle

Guess that’s why it was leaking bar oil when the previous owner sold it - part was missing

Just pulled it out of the 242 parts saw so we’re back in business - thank you [emoji1689]

This just showed up today. Still need to get a chain, but I couldn't resist putting it on the 42 for pictures...

As for your 242, you may find it has a sweet spot a bit richer than it takes for 15,500. Spec in the cut is 9900.

Did you buy the bar from Sven Junghans aka Skogsverktyg.se? I have a couple of them myself, it's been a few years since I felled on the farm, who knows, maybe I'll get to test them out myself this year.

Morning people. A sad time for me but I am looking to sell my 42.. it's neither getting used enough and nor can I warrant at the moment it sitting on a shelf. It's mint for its age. Starts well yadda yadda. Works as it should. I'll get some more pictures if any one is interested. [emoji106]

This tag looks like it’s been replaced is it smaller than the original

I agree that it looks small, but I have never studied the one I have.
H 42 S is the anniversary model.
Husqvarna did not put much work on the professional models when they celebrated the 300th anniversary (unlike the 42's), a decal on the top cover was the only thing they bothered to do on the 242's.

Speaking anniversary models, here is the 242 I just finished disassembling, cleaning and putting back together. Seals and bearing were both fine so no need to split the cases this time. 15" NOS Oregon bar adds the finishing touch. I do have a NOS muffler for this but I didn't want to hack it up so I modded this one and painted it. Anyone have a good tip on how to properly glue the corner of the decal down on the top cover?
