Pretty sure that 24 hr recommended dry time takes more than a half hour on the wood stove. I'm using Drf's method from now on. PPG in Ford Lt. Grey and a small brush
Ya after two hours it was looking great! Then I threw a couple more splits on the fire and opened the vent up. Was supposed to close it some after a couple minutes but got into something else. Oops! So off to the shop for blasting and powder coating!

Went and got a load of gravel to extend my lane to wood pile a bit.
I need to start building my bigger trailer soon. My poor little 5x8 utillty trailer sure was loaded heavy. Im hoping my boy will finish unloading it tonight for me.

Got my little stash of hackberry, Hickory (maybe), and Walnut split. Splitter ran out of gas and I called it quits.

The wood in the center and left stack is hickory in my opinion. At least it looks exactly like the hickory I've been splitting up here...
I hope you're right on the center stack, first one I've come across here, same for my father in law who's been in the woods long before me. Left stack is hackberry, I've got three huge rounds from the base of a tree.

Completely serviced my Dad's log splitter. Been sitting for 3 years. New spark plug, new air filter, new carb, new fuel line, gas tank flushed and filled with fresh non-ethenol gas, changed the oil, new hydraulic filter and all new hydraulic oil. It runs pretty well now. Anybody have any tips on tuning the carb on a 5 horse Tecumseh?

Kinda like a saw. Set it to full throttle, slowly lean the high speed jet till the engine starts to surge a little. Then turn it back out till it smooths out plus a tad more. If it pops n farts its too rich. Same procedure with the low side.

I run wagner thermo quiet pads on my truck. They're great brakes but they aren't quiet. The RTV is the only way I've found to shut them up.

You can always justify another saw.

Dug up and worked on a bunch of sprinkler heads that weren't rotating properly. Getting wet several times just made it that much better.

For the squealing brake pads, try making a couple hard stops (on a road with no one behind you of course) Make stops from about 60mph to zero as hard as you can without sliding the tires. Do a couple of those and see if your brake noise goes away.
